Hi there!
My name is Staci and I believe in the power of transformation. It is almost magical. Growing up, my parents taught me about looking beyond the surface of people and things to see the beauty that lies within. I watched them refinish furniture, taking pieces that were cast aside and bringing them back to life. In college, as I was struggling to furnish my first apartment, I started experimenting with furniture restoration and refinishing. I took my childhood antique wrought iron bed frame that my parents had painted white, stripped it to the bare metal, coated it with rust inhibiting clear coat and used it until after I got married! I would visit thrift shops, pick out pieces and restore them. My favorite was a pie crust tilt-top table that was dirty and painted in a color that I didn’t care for. I stripped it down to the wood to uncover a beautiful solid walnut and I fell in love with the process.
Furniture is part of the family. It can be handed down from generation to generation. It holds memories of meals, holidays and special times. Sometimes, a buffet or a dresser doesn’t fit it’s current owner, but can start a journey with a new family. Often, a piece can be cleaned and refinished to refresh it’s beautiful original state. And when that isn’t possible due to damage or personal tastes, it can be transformed completely. I put my heart and soul into each piece I work on, as if it would be used in my own home. I am a singer, an artist, a working wife and mother to a wonderful son. I’m fortunate that my studio is in my backyard, so my projects are a family affair and you’ll often see my unofficial ” Design Assistant” Pepper photobombing my pictures. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I feel so privileged that my clients trust me with their furniture. Thank you for taking a moment to take a look at my work.
“Transformation is magical.”
